CT Course Book – Thoracic CT

The CT Course Book is intended for beginners in computed tomography: In addition to a comprehensive CT anatomy atlas from head to toe, it provides concise and clear descriptions of the physical and general fundamentals, including a brief “ABC” of CT image interpretation and patient preparation. Important or common pathological cases are also presented for each body region. In addition, the book provides helpful information on contrast agent administration, managing contrast reactions, radiation protection, and CT angiography. The advantages of dual-source CT and PET/CT diagnostics are also explained using illustrative examples. At the end of each chapter, quiz questions (image puzzles and video clips) allow readers to assess their understanding and reinforce their knowledge of the material.

The chapter on technical fundamentals, the guidelines for managing contrast-mediated reactions, and the CT angiography protocols have been updated. For nearly every CT image, a schematic illustration with a numbered legend aids in anatomical orientation. Removable checklists with tables of reference values fit in any lab coat pocket.
