CT Course Book – Abdominal CT

The CT Course Book is intended for beginners in computed tomography: In addition to a comprehensive CT anatomy atlas covering the entire body from head to toe, it provides concise and clear descriptions of the physical and general fundamentals, as well as a brief “ABC” of CT image interpretation and patient preparation. For each region of the body, important or common pathological cases are also presented. It also includes helpful information on contrast agent administration, managing reactions to contrast agents, radiation protection, and CT angiography. The advantages of dual-source CT and PET/CT diagnostics are also explained using illustrative examples. At the end of each chapter, quizzes (picture puzzles and video clips) allow students to check their understanding and reinforce the material.

The chapter on technical fundamentals, the guidelines for managing contrast-mediated reactions, and the CT angiography protocols have been updated. For almost every CT image, a schematic diagram with a numbered legend helps with anatomical orientation. Removable checklists with tables of standard values fit in any lab coat pocket. With its numerous illustrations (over 1,600!), it is more than just a workbook—it can also be used as a reference book or atlas.
