FKDS Trainer – Abdomen

The “FKDS-Trainer” workbook offers beginners in color-coded duplex sonography not only an overview of nearly all vascular regions, but also an introduction to how echo contrast enhancers work and the technical background: Normal values and practical checklists (which can also be removed and carried in a lab coat pocket) are clearly contrasted with the most common pathological changes in color-coded images and typical flow spectra.

The required transducer positions are clearly illustrated on the corresponding page and explained in the accompanying text right next to them, eliminating the need to flip through the pages. Numbered labels for the vessels and structures make it easier to perform active self-checks later on. Challenging quiz images allow for self-assessment and further study. The book is therefore also ideal as a preparation guide or supplementary reading for ultrasound courses.
