In *Doc’s Coach*, practical skills from everyday clinical practice are explained step by step—from maintaining sterility in the operating room to operating injection devices, ECG recording, blood collection, and pleural puncture, all the way to central venous catheter placement, cricothyrotomy, and resuscitation. The structure is logical and well-thought-out. First, the indications, contraindications, and potential complications of the procedure are explained. The author then discusses preparation and explains how specific devices work. Next, each step of the relevant technique is described and illustrated with more than 1,000 figures and photos. In addition, there are many tips, quiz questions, and pointers on common sources of error. The book is recommended for medical students in clinical settings as well as for resident physicians. Unfortunately, its DIN A4 format makes it too large to fit in a lab coat pocket. The effective teaching approach facilitates learning and ensures clarity.
